we're back to lockdown sounds this week, or rather, works produced in
lockdown, as we just barely start to dip our little toes into the
massive psi-solation compilation, curated by new zealand's campbell
kneale and featuring works by 119 artists, including your friendly
neighborhood framework host. i haven't even tried to count the hours
here, and i haven't come anywhere close to listening to it all yet, but
i managed to finagle out a handful of tracks appropriate for framework
just to start, and will hope to finagle a few more over the coming
weeks/months.

likewise we returned to erstwhile records' amplify 2020 festival, which
coincidentally is now at just about the same number - 117 at time of
print, so will also be at 119 before you know it. how far will they go?
who knows. lots of framework familiar names on their list, but lots of
new discoveries (for us) as well.

also, we were very pleased to discover this week that our good friend
and longtime framework favorite jonathan coleclough has made the leap to
bandcamp, and 28 of his past and more recent releases are available
there in digital form. we're featuring one of our personal favorites,
originally released in 1999 (and long since unavailable) on cd by korm
plastics, now available as a download on jonathan's own october editions.

it all began with the first of our framework quarantine introductions,
recorded in the u.s. by stephen sherrill, and it all ended with a work
he recorded at the same time as his intro, which accompanies a video at
the vimeo link in the playlist, featuring water drips onto cans and pots
in a lockdown driveway. at in the middle of it all were more sounds from
the aporee maps, with no claim to lockdowns or quarantines or viruses -
just sounds, from france, the u.s., and zambia.

again, we are always looking for new material, whether raw field
recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated framework:afield series. send proposals or material,
released or not, on any format, to the address at the bottom of this
mail. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
