Hello Boris and thank you for the interest.

The image is scanned from right to left, vertically, and each pixel is then passed through a synthesizer. In this case the synthesizer outputs some human phones. 

Also I added a bit of reverb to each pixel since the chorus  effect is amplified and more lively (human like).

The output is in stereo.

Octaves mapping of frequencies alter the sonification of the image. 

If your curves can parametrize along x-axis or y-axis e.g. y(x) = f(x) then this method gives you the same as trekking along the white curves in the photo. If not, then this method gives you general sonification for any data. 

But in scientific data, other than the statistical curves, data is not as simple as such parametrize curves.
