#457: 2014.03.09
listen to this edition here:
http://www.frameworkradio.net/2014/03/457-2014-03-09/
i really enjoyed putting this edition together - it includes my favorite
recent release, by the french namblard brothers; a beautifully packaged
and delicately constructed self-release by sabri meddeb, whose work is a
new discovery for us; the surprisingly soothing sounds of fiebig and
mockl's traffic; and the satisfyingly contrasting concrete sounds of
emmanuel mieville's recent online crónica release.
i can't effuse enough about kalerne's new release by the namblard
brothers - and i swear it's not just because i had the honor of
translating the accompanying texts into english. this is nature
recording at its best, not simply documentation, but incredibly
skillfully placed frames around the aural soul of spaces. if you haven't
already, definitely check it out.
and don't forget this week's introduction competition! send me a
framework introduction before edition #458 is aired, and you'll be
entered in a draw to receive a framework:seasonal release of your
choice! have a look at the website for intro-recording guidelines
(http://www.frameworkradio.net/intros) and to see the framework:seasonal
releases you can choose from (that is, all of them!
http://www.frameworkradio.net/editions).
again, we are always looking for new material, whether raw field
recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated framework:afield series. send proposals or material,
released or not, on any format, to the address at the bottom of this
mail. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
