framework - phonography/field recording; contextual and decontextualized sound activity
presented by patrick mcginley

for this, our april edition of framework:focus, we featured a recent project by local london label authorised version entitled ^observer drift, a 2cd compilation consisting entirely of untreated field recordings from a well dispersed collection of artists. the likes of francisco lopez, janek schaefer, leafcutter john, frans de waard and dave phillips bring us distant american thunderstorms, the minutiae of insect larvae, and the chilling freezing of microphones. we heard a solid 60 minute soundscape constructed from these recordings, with a brief interlude of explanation on the project's background.

for any more info on the project, see autorised version's website at http://www.a-version.co.uk, or for specific track details, see http://www.a-version.co.uk/drift.

again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw field recordings, field recording based composition or introduction submissions. send material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. we are also hoping to have live performances as often as possible, so if you are in or passing through london please get in touch!
