#393: 2012.10.21

this edition of framework:afield has been produced in australia by
jay-dea lopez featuring works released by the impulsive habitat
netlabel. for more information see http://soundslikenoise.wordpress.com,
or http://impulsivehabitat.com. a few words from the producer:

"This installment of Framework Radio introduces sounds by field
recordists who have released work on the Impulsive Habitat net-label.
Impulsive Habitat is devoted to field recordings and sound-art. It
started as a curatorial project by Juan Jose Calarco and David Velez in
2009.

Impulsive Habitat focuses on works that use field recordings as the
source of compositional and artistic material. It releases works where
the captures are left unprocessed, such as in Hiroki Sasajima's Colony
or David Michael's El Yunque; it also releases works where the
recordings are heavily processed such as in Christopher McFall's releases.

All works released through Impulsive Habitat are available as free
downloads. The curators of the label believe that art and culture should
be as accessible as possible, their goal being to publish material of
the same quality as anything published in CD formats.

Impulsive Habitat hopes that their releases help people discover meaning
in the quotidian sounds that surround us, helping us to find some
poetical sense in the act of listening."

again, we are always looking for new material, whether raw field
recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated framework:afield series. send proposals or material,
released or not, on any format, to the address at the bottom of this
mail. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
