*#348: 2011.10.23*

this is the first part of a series of framework:afield editions produced
by the participants of the field-recording and creative radio workshop,
which took place at the digital media centre at south hill park, uk in
late 2010, organised by martin franklin and led by patrick mcginley:

This workshop introduces the concept of deep environmental listening
through an exploration of our immediate surroundings and a series of
sound-hunting forays and listening sessions. We will also explore
composition for radio as a creative medium, and work towards the
production of a final work to be broadcast as part of Framework
    Radio's Afield series.

this first part has been produced as an introduction to the workshops
and its participants by martin franklin. for more information see the
digital media centre website:

http://www.digitalmediacentre.org

again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw
field recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated /*framework:afield*/ series. send proposals or
material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. if you
have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
