*#345: 2011.10.02*

a lovely autumn mix this week, featuring some wonderful scandinavian
sounds from *marc behrens*, scottish drones from *david wells*,
columbian forests from *david velez*, and university laboratories from
*ernst karel*. we actually played these laboratories already on the
program about 6 months ago, but this time we mixed them with another,
instrumental, project: the *chicago sound map* improvisers ensemble used
ernst's original release as a score for 2 works, presumably listening to
the recording on headphones while playing along with their instruments
(that's just a guess as to their process, by the way). so a blend of
original field recordings, and instrumental works inspired by them.

we also heard the next track from our upcoming *autumn 2011* edition of
the new /*framework seasonal*/ compilation series. we've already heard
works by *sebastiane hegarty* and *marc behrens*; this week's piece,
entitled /*around and within*/, comes to us from the uk and *mark peter
wright*. /*framework seasonal*/ is our new fund-raising effort; the
discs will be available only directly from us in exchange for a donation
via the framework website. please show your support for the program and
donate! more information here:

again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw
field recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated /*framework:afield*/ series. send proposals or
material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. if you
have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
