Renown internationally for their pioneering industrial sound, Iceland's Reptilicus have re-emerged with "Initial Conditions", a new 7" on the Canada imprint Yatra Arts. Active on the fringes of a variety of music scenes since the late 1980s, Reptilicus has incorporated percussion, dada experimentation, noise and acoustic instrumentation to push the boundaries of electronic music and "Initial Conditions" is the next step in their evolution.

To celebrate this occasion and as part of the Iceland Arts Festival, Yatra Arts The Goethe-Institut Toronto and Toronto Best Party have organized a gala event featuring a one-night only performance by Reptilicus on Friday, November 18th.

Supporting Reptilicus for this show will be Raster-Noton recording artist Senking, the dubby and darkly cinematic project of Jens Massel, a rising star in the world of German electronic music, whose remix of "Initial Conditions" is also featured on the 7" and the critically acclaimed Icelandic sound artist Rùnar Magnùsson.

Rounding out the bill will be Canada's own Orphx, an electronic duo active since the early 1990s and known across North America and Europe for their characteristically edgy techno sound. Toronto electronic music pioneers Heiki and Huren will be on hand as DJs.

This event promises to be a unique and memorable experience for all in attendance with some North American & Canadian debuts!

The show takes place at Nocturne, 550 Queen St. W at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door, or $17, which includes a copy of the "Initial Conditions" 7" record.
