[microsound-announce] fades.net - Call for participation

Dear friends and colleagues,
the sound installation fades.net at the 12th Prague Quadriennal needs your collective participation.
Next monday june 20th, from 11am (Central Europe Time) and for about 20 minutes, every connection to fades.net website will add a sinusoid to the main audio system in the foyer of the New National Theatre of Prague.
Your participation is very welcome. Simply connect to www.fades.net during the event, so to saturate the theatre space with a strong, colored, ever changing noise.
It won't be possible to listen to the resulting sound from home, only the audience at the venue will actually hear your contribution, but let those people perceive your "sonorous" presence.
Of course if you are in Prague please pass by and say hello.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
fades.net is a piece about additive synthesis and microtonal tunings, the more people connect to fades.net, the bigger the number of partials/sinusoids is utilized to build an ideal A440 sonorous drone.
There can be up to hundreds voices, and every voice is different and continuously changing in amplitude.
All visitors who will connect to fades.net website during the performance (by iphone, iPad, blueberry, etc) will add a new voice to  the drone. Instructions for the audience will be shown on a screen, along with a graphical representation of the drone. There is no interaction but a progressive addition of sinusoids.
After several thousands of connection the drone will turn into white noise (better say colored).
