framework - phonography/field recording; contextual and decontextualized sound activity
presented by patrick mcginley

***important announcement*** this month resonancefm is moving to brand-spanking-new studio premises, a vast improvement over the space we have now. this is a big job, however, and live programming will be suspended for most of july (archive programming will continue). for this reason, framework will also be taking a few weeks off, to recharge our engines, and restock our ears. so the next new edition of framework is scheduled for wednesday, the 1st of august.

in the meantime, however, we will continue to update the podcast weekly, with shows from our own archive. have a look at the playlists online; if there's a particular show you'd like to hear, from anytime in framework's 500 (sorry, 5) year history, let us know, and we'll try to line it up in the next few weeks.

so, on to the show!

some really wonderful works that have been waiting far too long in our 'to play' pile in this edition, including 2 exquisitely constructed works on the swedish komplott label, a collection of lost and forgotten works by our old favorite toy.bizarre, and a series of manipulated recordings from cathedrals and passage graves by baradelan. toy.bizarre's sources for the pieces we're listening to include ants and hydroelectric powerstations (to cite the extremes), while hanna hartman's close-up mic'ing techniques reveal some amazing textures of voice, wood, and what must be the eating of an apple. meanwhile andreas bertilsson's delicate compositions stem from some potential haunting activity during the time of his residency at the studio - have these events informed his final product? this was all begun with a framework introduction recorded for us by olivia swider.

again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw field recordings, field recording based composition or introduction submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of our guest-curated series. send proposals or material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
