The people of New York get a lot of things that nobody else gets: a 
city that never sleeps, 212 area codes, Bloomberg as mayor, blah blah 
blah. But one thing they shouldn't be the only ones to get is a free 
Matmos concert (is that a grammatical sentence?). Anyway, we're pairing 
up our free concert at the Whitney Museum of American Art, which is the 
official release party for our new album, with another free concert on 
the campus of the San Francisco Art Institute. It's going to be an 
alfresco, outdoors affair; meet us at the staircase outside studio 9. 
We won't be hard to find. We will play in a new lineup augmented by the 
students of M. C. Schmidt's "Sound As Music" class. This will be the 
largest Matmos ensemble ever, so be prepared for an improvisatory 
hootenanny. Also on hand to lend festive ear-piercing electronics to 
the occasion is the able-bodied citizen of Washington, D.C, Richard 
Chartier. Please note that this performance launches at the early hour 
of 5 pm, so consider it a pre-dinner affair. We encourage you to go to 
the art opening of Walter Kitundu's "Kitundu LP" show at the Luggage 
Store later on that evening.
