framework - phonography/field recording; contextual and decontextualized sound activity
presented by patrick mcginley

this was a special edition of framework originally produced in october of last year for the radia network, a collaborative project by a group of independent radio stations around europe. this edition was never broadcast on resonancefm, so it got it's first airing here - it is a collage of my own raw field recordings, taken during travels in the past few years in the u.s., portugal, here in the u.k., france, hungary, germany and estonia. it finished with the premiere of one of my own compositions, again created entirely from raw field recordings, hard edited with no alteration on a portable minidisc recorder. the piece, taking it's name from this very radio show, is titled framework 1. this edition will be repeated this sunday, the 29th of january.

for more information on the radia network and their broadcasting schedule have a look here: http://www.radia.fm.

again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw field recordings, field recording based composition or introduction submissions. send material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. we are also hoping to have live performances as often as possible, so if you are in or passing through london please get in touch!
