Stephan Mathieu bases his work on recordings of acoustic events and esoteric software processes. London-based sound artist Janek Schaefer creates music that explores the spatial and architectural aspects of sound. Both have released and performed their music to critical acclaim and created site-specific pieces around the world.

Stephan and Janek formed their audio/visual duo following a spontaneous duo concert in Szczecin, a city by the sea in Poland. They met again at the home of british composer Sir John Tavener to make recordings of his collection of classical and exotic instruments. For this project, these recordings are used to create soundscapes that weave together lush drones and sparkling tones to produce various intimate, hypnotic, and exhilarating experiences.
