framework - phonography/field recording; contextual and decontextualized sound activity
presented by patrick mcginley

another great intro recorded by keith de mendonca preceded a superb collection of new sounds this week, namely eric la casa's excellent new cd on fringes, stephan mathieu's latest endeavour the sad mac, and a plethora of unreleased sounds from phill harding, meri von kleinsmid and mike harding. mike gave us a somewhat confusing field recording for airplay, the lure of which we couldn't resist: a recording of resonancefm's reception at his home in balham, south london (hopefully it sometimes gets better than that). what happens when you play a recording of a radio station from afar on the same radio station from the studio? does the world implode? we had to find out...

once again, if you haven't already, drop in and have a gander at the new framework website - plenty of info including a full playlist archive from the past years of broadcasting, and coming soon an on demand stream of the latest program. it's at http://www.resonancefm.com, or by following the 'radio' link on my website, http://www.murmerings.com.

again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw field recordings, field recording based composition or introduction submissions. send material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. we are also hoping to have live performances as often as possible, so if you are in or passing through london please get in touch!
