I've not used it for Paris, but had really good results in NY with <a href="http://airbnb.com" target="_blank">airbnb.com</a>. The general idea is people with a spare room or futon or couch or something can rent it out at a price of their choosing, so it's couch-surfing with a wide range of options, and money changes hands.<br>
