"We are happy to announce our first concert which will take place in a former DDR Boathouse directly at the Spree. We have invited Sarah Davachi for this and Punctum who will be premiering compositions from their upcoming LP.
This concert aims to create a platform and atmosphere where you can connect and share a musical journey with us and other likeminded individuals for one evening.“
Sarah Davachi -
As a composer of electronic and electroacoustic music, Davachi is engaged in practices of analog synthesis, psychoacoustic manipulations, multi-channel sound diffusion, and studio composition. Davachi's compositional projects are primarily concerned with disclosing the antiquated instruments and forgotten sonics of a bygone era in analog synthesis, with concurrent treatment of acoustic sources – particularly organs, strings, and woodwinds – often involving de-familiarization through processing. Her work considers the experience of enveloped sonic dwelling, utilizing extended durations, gradual transformations in texture, and simple harmonic structures that emphasize variations in overtone complexity and natural phasing patterns.

Punctum -
Punctum takes an alien phenomenology approach to the naked sound of Roland TB303 and TR606, by stripping their compositional tactics down to brutal minimalism. Expanded through multilayered delay lines and resonant chorus effects, the widely-recognisable Roland sound signature turns into an hybrid where the culturally established source bonding is dramatically blurred.
The choice to limitate the sound palette to such a legendary timbre further reinforces the subversion effect of sound disembodiment and revisionism.
By means of reduction and subtraction, the iconic sound of the silver boxes is virtually projected into an ideal desert. Where extrinsic links are hard to grasp, the perception of the sound object itself is enhanced and refreshed, thus revealing uncharted territories of sonic investigation. Unified into an archetype of sonic purity, the high tech soul of the Roland machines coexists with a dimension of timeless acoustic phenomena such as resonance, reflection and reverberation.
Punctum is a collaboration between Carlo Maria and Caterina Barbieri started in early 2016 during a residency at EMS (Elektronmusikstudion) in Stockholm. Their first album Remote Sensing is due to be released in 2016.

∑ -
∑ (Summe) is a small group of Berlin-based artists (including musicians, sound engineers, event/sound technicians, filmmakers, promoters, audiovisual media, DJs etc). They try to challenge themselves by finding ways to combine all (or most) of their interests to make memorable sets, showcases, installations and/or events. They believe that in doing so they are involved in shaping spaces of social encounter. Therefore, they hope to make it possible for themselves and others to become aware of their interconnection with one another, their surroundings, the sounds and the images that are being presented to them in these spaces.
