Those were really cool. Why is it so hard to form any kind of virtual communities in 2016? It seems that social media has had a very negative impact on our ability to create virtual spaces outside of the mainstream. Yet social media does not meet my needs to engage in discourse and collaborate with like minded musicians and artists... Unless I'm missing something, it's like the battle for the internet is already over, and artists have lost. ~David On Wed, Feb 10, 2016 at 6:32 AM Al Matthews wrote: > Oh, sorry: the github links per se are irrelevant, I think, since surely > we're near to GPL something as an infrastructure. > > I find myself tucking things in there that either I a) want or 2) need to > be there in 20-40 .. years (?) > > Al > > On Wed, Feb 10, 2016, 06:21 Al Matthews wrote: > >> Sorry, tweaking tone. >> >> .microsound list is quiet these says. The list can continue to be hosted at my expense. Last time I looked, the project and repository were working fine and all issues with upload limits were sorted out in due course (a few weeks after they were originally reported, can't recall exactly, it was 5 years ago!). All that said, if you have any better suggestions for hosting media files, I'm all for it, though we might lose the cool dynamic styling we have now (and programmed by yours truly) for project artwork. I think we're just lacking new projects; all else is in place.
