A microscopy image of cortical cells was sonified, and " foraged for melodies".

MetaSynth was used to sonify the image pixel by pixel, vertically scanned from left. The image was processed by Edge Detection algorithm to remove all but the edges. 

The result was poly midi-fied by Melodyne, time-stretching and instruments by Logic Pro. 

Counterpoint arrangements of the final midi output turned a part into a main melody repeated and few other pieces also one chasing after the other in Fugue form, with no restriction on the timing or pitches.
