[microsound] Poll: Technology in Live Performance

A) ANTIHIPPI Been making electronic music since 1996.
B) Instruments: Studio - Cubase (for Midi and Audio), Soundforge, Akai S01 x 4, Electribe S, EMU XL1 Turbo, Korg N5. 
 Occasional live gig as ANTIHIPPI using Akai S20 samplers and Red Sound C loops plus mixer.
More frequently assisting Quamvis Sum Parva live, operating equipment listed in 1.

Survey Questions:
1. 16 Track mixer, Loop sampler, Very old Tandy reverb/delay box. Boss 16 minute loop pedal, Audio Buddy for  Boss Pedal signals to mixer.
2. No conscious avoidance of any technology but would not be keen on just laptop as this is dull for the audience.
3. Quamvis Sum Parva uses instruments which sound electrical but are acoustic eg: singing bowls. Samplers and loopers enable her to create layers of sound to fill the performance space. The durations of the acoustic sounds and loops become confused in the listener's ear and enable changes to be subtly introduced in the soundscape.
4. 1st performance in a club where our inexperience caused problem not technology. We created a feedback loop by routing effects box back through sub channel. However members of local noise metal outfit praised this, even though ti drowned out parts of the performance.
5. We intend using AirFx and Kaoss Pad to modify sounds from our collection of gongs, bowls, harmonium, possibly dung shen. I may acquire other classic old hardware. Degradation of sound fed into 12 or 16 bit equipment can be quite exciting.
