@Daniel: I think the idea of maintaining the video inside one effect is 
good, you are right, the straight aesthetic borders are good for this 
kinf of piece. So, in order to achieve tension and keep the interest, 
you could think on the recording of the original footage: you could 
record more obscure clips, or close ups, or frames with a lot of 
black.... so now you do know the effect they are going to produce, and 
you can control the progression of the whole piece.
And, I like it!
