Message-ID: <946099.91317.qm@web34207.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Hello I was wondering if anyone uses Symbolic Composer http://www.symboliccomposer.com/page_main.shtml and has some sound examples available. On the website I can not find any sonic 'result' of the program and K don't want to pull out my wallet without knowing what I will get. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Klaus from the lloopp list suggested to me a reinstall of javascript but i dont really know what this is, or where to go to get it. has anyone on the list got lloopp (and max) on their ibook, or similar please? could do with some help here. all the best ben From noisesmith at gmail.com Thu Aug 6 20:09:57 2009 From: noisesmith at gmail.com (Justin Smith) Date: Thu, 6 Aug 2009 17:09:57 -0700 Subject: [microsound] lloopp on laptops / ibook In-Reply-To: <192524.61330.qm@web52008.mail.re2.yahoo.com> References: <192524.61330.qm@web52008.mail.re2.yahoo.com> Message-ID: <9e76fbda0908061709u2bb35d3fs2b22c13a7113f448@mail.gmail.com> On Thu, Aug 6, 2009 at 11:51 AM, guiver ben wrote: > dear all > > hi i recently got lloopp working on my g4 quicksilver. its great, but i would also like to use it in a more portable way, so i tried installing on my ibook (10.3.9, 384mb, 800mhz powerpc) but to no avail: it kind of appeared but half the buttons on the host module didnt come up and it was unresponsive. > > other people seem to be having this problem with newer powerbooks, ie g4's running 10.4.11. I received this email from drummer Ronnie Burrage this morning. ================ Please pass on the information that my good friend the great Rashid Ali passed yesterday. He suffered a mild heart attack last Thursday, was scheduled for release yesterday. He got dressed as his wife and brother waited for him, said he had to use the restroom before leaving went in the bathroom and never came out. ================ I had the pleasure of working and jamming extensively with Rashid during the 1980s. He was a great drummer who could express himself in a wide variety of musical styles and situations. He was generous to those situations and to up-and-coming musicians. He also dedicated himself to creating situations where musicians could be true to their artistic vision, which, of course, is about constant exploration. Yes. Amazon has some Sonnet adapters that are pretty cheap: $10-12US. Cables are more expensive. Just moved the disk image from a Mac Mimi to a MacBook Pro via fw400 drive interfaces and a 400->800 adapter cable. Nary a hitch...
