run initiative based in Leichhardt in Sydney. It was set up in 2005 to provide
an alternative critical position within contemporary Australian art. As an
artist-run-initiative SNO has curated public exhibitions, an education program
and an ongoing program of soundwork and performances. To date SNO has mounted

are currently calling for expressions of interest from artists wishing to
exhibit in the sound of our 2019 program. Usually we have an exhibition each

The central idea that informed the inception and management of SNO’s program

investigation into non-objective, concrete, and abstract art in general. SNO
attempts to critically balance different levels of artistic experience, and the
specialist program aims to sustain a policy of innovation and integration of
