Dies geschieht gleichermaßen in der „klassischen“ Neuen Musik wie in der elektronischen Kunst, in Weltmusik oder traditionellen Musikformen. Das EUROMicroFest möchte einige Resultate dieser Entwicklung würdigen und die verwendeten Tonsysteme herausstellen, zusammen mit speziell zu diesem Zweck gebauten und weiterentwickelten Instrumenten.</div><div style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; min-height: 14px;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class="">2017 liegt der Schwerpunkt des Festivals im Austausch zwischen verschiedenen Aktanten in der mikrotonalen Szene, mit Musikern, Komponisten und der interessierten Öffentlichkeit.</div><div style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; min-height: 14px;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class="">Dazu haben wir verschiedene Gäste aus der mikrotonalen Musikszene eingeladen, wie z.B. Michael H. Dixon, den amerikanischen Fagottisten Chris Watford, der mit einem 72-stufigen Tonsystem arbeitet, oder Casey Hale. Ergänzend werden regionale Interpreten in diesem Feld zu hören und zu sehen sein, wie die Freiburger Jan F. Kurth, Ephraim Wegner und das duo Contour (Lee Ferguson und Stephen Altoft). Letztere präsentieren ein Konzert mit Werken in neunzehnstufiger Stimmung, einem Tonsystem, das sich im frühen 16. Jahrhundert entwickelt hat.</div><div style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; min-height: 14px;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class="">Über das Konzertprogramm hinaus werden einige der Künstler Workshops anbieten und kurze, informative Präsentationen und Vorträge zu ihren Arbeiten und Ansätzen geben. Das EUROMicroFest will Musiker, Komponisten und Publikum vernetzen, ins Gespräch bringen und inspirieren.
