<b>#303: 2010.10.31<br>
</b><br>
well folks, we avoided the problematic situation of
feeling obligated to make a halloween-themed program by
completely forgetting that it was halloween - it is much
less apparent here in estonia than in any of the other
places i've lived, and the streets, houses, and shops
are pleasantly free from cheap plastic skeletons and
light-up pumpkins. estonia has two of it's own
dress-up-and-go-house-to-house celebrations, so when
asked about halloween, my friends here look at me
quizically and ask, what do we need another one for?<br>
<br>
in any case this program was dominated by a collage of
recordings from central china, where (correct me if i'm
wrong) i doubt halloween is much more strongly observed
that in estonia. along with that work by <b>edwin lo</b>,
we got around to many submissions that have been waiting
patiently a very long time, both cds and mp3s, including
a couple that available as free downloads (<b>daniel del
rio</b> and <b>james wyness</b>).<br>
<br>
this all began with a <i><b>framework</b></i>
introduction recorded for us, again, by <b>martin
clarke</b>. now: although martin's intros are always
exquisite, and i will continue to air every single one
he sends me, it's becoming a bit of a one-man show
people! keep them coming martin, but the rest of you,
let's go, send me some intros! in a folder of the 5
unused intros i've got waiting for airplay, there is 1,
yes *1*, that is <i>not</i> by martin. <i>and</i> he's
left a shiny red apple on my desk... <br>
<br>
again, we are always looking for material for the show,
whether raw field recordings, field recording based
composition, or introduction submissions. we are also
now accepting proposals for full editions of our </font></small><small><font
