OLAF BENDER (aka BYETONE) is a founding
member of the Raster-Noton label, as well as its lead designer. Bender creates
his music digitally, assembling sine tones into complex sound fabrics of deep
sub-bass and rhythmic clicks and crackles. In his high-energy live sets, he
creates abstract animations to support his abstract music —transforming the
rhythm of the music into its graphic equivalent, which he controls in real time.

ZIMOUN hails from Bern Switzerland. The sound
sculptures, installations and performances of Zimoun are graceful, mechanized
works of playful poetry, their structural simplicity opens like an industrial
bloom to reveal a complex and intricate series of relationships, an ongoing
interplay between the «artificial» and the «organic». He is interested in the
artistic research of simple and elegant systems to generate and study complex
behaviours in sound and motion. He creates sound pieces from basic components,
often using multiples of the same prepared mechanical elements to examine the
creation and degeneration of patterns. His work has been featured in numerous
solo and group shows as well as performances throughout Europe, Asia and North
America. Zimoun has been awarded different art prizes and residencies and
has served as a guest lecturer, presenter and instructor. In 2003, Zimoun and
graphic designer Marc Beekhuis founded Leerraum [ ] - which serves as a label
and a networking hub of artists in similar fields. It has become a platform for
creative exchange among those who explore forms and structures based on
reductive principles and careful yet radical use of materials.

TAKAMASA was born in Osaka, Japan and
presently resides in Berlin, Germany. He has been releasing music since 2001,
constantly revising his personal methodology whilst actively creating sounds
based mainly on computer/software. Aoki enthusiastically pursues an expansive
variety of techniques of expression via a broad array of software and hardware,
driving the his laptop’s CPU to the max to create a propulsive rhythm and
groove. His latest release, “RN-Rhythm Variations,” is a brilliant mix of
abrasive noise and infectious rhythms.
