Klangerzeugung bis hin zu dem Musizieren mit verschiedenen

Büttner spielt elektroakustische Musik über verschiedene externe
Lautsprecher. Zeitgleich werden die Klänge durch
mitschwingende Objekte auf den Lautsprechern und auf mehreren, dem
Alltag entnommenen Resonanzkörpern moduliert.</font></p>

1999 arbeitet Büttner mit visuellen und Audioinformationen. Mit
Hilfe des Computers zerlegt er Geräusche, </font><font
style="font-size: 10pt;" size="2">Musik und Klänge,
untersucht sie und verarbeitet diese Fragmente anschließend. In
erster Linie geht es ihm </font><font style="font-size: 10pt;" size="2">hierbei
um die Bedingungen, unter welchen
Klänge und Geräusche entstehen und welche Wirkung sie auf den </font><font
style="font-size: 10pt;" size="2">Hörer
haben.</font><br>
<font style="font-size: 10pt;" size="2">So
entstehen verschiedene Teilstücke, die zu Kompositionen
zusammengefügt werden. Diese Kompositionen </font><font
style="font-size: 10pt;" size="2">entstehen in Interaktion
mit der Struktur der Geräusche und Klänge. D.h., dass die
Komposition sich der Struktur </font><font style="font-size: 10pt;"
size="2">(Dynamik, Klangfarbe, Tonlage,
“Stimmung”) der Geräusche und Klänge anpasst oder umgekehrt die
Klänge aus </font><font style="font-size: 10pt;" size="2">kompositorischen
Gründen verändert werden.</font><br>
<font style="font-size: 10pt;" size="2">Neben
seiner akustischen Arbeit beschäftige sich Gregory Büttner nach wie
vor mit visuellen Medien wie </font><font style="font-size: 10pt;"
size="2">Fotografie und Video, wobei er auch hier
hauptsächlich mit vorgefundenen Material experimentiert.</font><br>

my development of the computer as a working tool in 1999 I began to
work with audio information besides the visual ones. The computer
provides the possibility to cut up noises, sounds and music, to
analyse them and work with these fragments. I am especially
interested in the conditions, under which they come into being, in
which context they exist and what kind of effect they have got on the
audience.<br>
My
work begins with finding, searching or producing of acoustic
material. By experimenting with the material I get various fragments,
which are later combined in a composition. The composition is created
in interaction with the structure of the noises and sounds.
Interaction is meant as anadaptation
of the composition to the structure (dynamics, timbre, pitch, tune)
of the sounds and noises or the other way round the sounds are
changed for compositional reasons. In
my visual work I use the same method. Mostly I work with found

1998 bei den Darmstädter Sommerkursen für neue </font><font

40 neue Stücke bei Komponisten aus Asien, Europa, Neuseeland, </font><font
style="font-size: 10pt;" size="2">der
Schweiz und den USA in Auftrag gegeben und aufgeführt. Ihre
gemeinsamen Arbeiten verbinden die </font><font

Perkussion mit Elementen aus Tanz, Elektronik, Improvisation,

Peters (*1970)
lives and works in Berlin. Since the early 90s he has worked with
electronic music and since 2002 has performed as EVAPORI with releases
on AIC, Walter
Ulbricht Schallfolien, 1000füssler, Entracte. His compositions are
mostly based on concrete sound sources: field recordings,
transformation of found footage and the
use of self-made sound objects or classical instruments such as piano
or cello. Together with Nicolas Wiese [-HYPH-] Peters founded the
Label AIC. Since 2006 he has, amongst other projects, set music to
the scientific film „E2250“ which was shown at short film
festivals in Hamburg and in Darmstadt in the category „Modern Music
in the Context of Technology“. In 2008 he contributed a
composition to Satoshi Morita‘s „sound helmet“. Various concerts and

Stück besteht aus einem statisch gleich bleibenden Audiosignal, das
– anfangs leise – im Laufe des Stückes mit kontinuierlich
zunehmender Lautstärke abgespielt wird. Sobald die Leistung, die
ein Lautsprecher verträgt von der Ausgangsleistung des
Verstärkers überschritten wird, kommt es zu Verzerrungen und
letztendlich zum Ausfall des jeweiligen Lautsprechers. Da das
Audiosignal an sich schon übersteuert ist, wird man mit zwei
unterschiedlichen Arten von Verzerrung konfrontiert: einer
vermittelten, „harmlosen", bei der es zu keinem
materiellen Schaden kommt, und einer unmittelbaren.</font></p>

exists of a
statically constant audiosignal that is played – in the beginning
quietly –
in the course of the piece with continuously increasing volume. As
soon as the capacity of the speakers is exceeded by the output power
of the amplifier, distortions arise and at
last the speaker drops out. For the audiosignal is
already overamplified, the listener is confronted with two different
kinds of distortion: an arranged, "harmless” one with no
material damage, and an immediate one.</font></p>

Syntheseformen und kann auf verschiedene Weisen gespielt werden. Die
Komposition des Stückes ergab sich aus den klanglichen
Beschaffenheiten der einzelnen Funktionen. Ästhetisch
bewegt sich das Werk, trotz des Einsatzes von Field Recordings,
eindeutig im Bereich der Computer basierten Klangerzeugung. </font><font

spite of the application of field recordings, ranges definitely in

style="font-size: 10pt;" size="2">Ephraim
Wegner, der in den frühen 90igern als DJ im elektronischen Bereich
anfing, hat seine künstlerische Arbeit mittlerweile hauptsächlich
auf das Komponieren eigener Stücke verlagert.
Unter anderem vertont er Theater- und Tanzstücke sowie Kurzfilme und
ist in der Musikvermittlung im Bereich der Neuen Musik an Schulen
tätig. In Zusammenarbeit mit bildenden Künstlern realisierte er
verschiedene Ausstellungsprojekte und Installationen.<br>
