improvisation between China and Canada</SPAN></I></B><SPAN

<P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><FONT face=Arial size=3>On Friday February 27,
TANSO, an innovative Toronto-based arts promotion group, will host a live
improvised audio-visual collaboration between Chinese and Canadian experimental
sound and video artists at the U of T Art Centre.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P><FONT size=3><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><FONT face=Arial>The completely
improvised audio performance will feature experimental Shenzhen-based sound
artist Zen Lu collaborating via weblink with Toronto's I/O Media collective to
create a unique, "conversational" soundscape for the
audience. </FONT></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><FONT
face=Arial> </FONT></SPAN></FONT></P>
<P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><FONT face=Arial size=3>The video component
will come from public submissions, which were solicited via social networking
websites in both China and North America. Contributors were asked to base their
abstract efforts around the theme of 'perceiving ideology through media,' a nod
to the impact modern media and technology has on all global artists.

<P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><FONT face=Arial size=3>So far submissions have
already come in from the United States, Toronto and Beijing. During the
performance, these videos will be manipulated and processed in real-time via
custom-designed software, then broadcast via a Chinese arts

we've received so far are intense. It's very interesting to see artists'
response to the theme, given that they are all from different backgrounds." says
