to announce and re-announce!

First I would like
to further clarify the new divisions of the label.
Both mOAR and either/OAR
are part of and/OAR, not separate labels.
They could just as well be viewed
as two new series on the label.
Most people who know about a/O, know that it
has established itself
over the past 7+ years as a premiere label for
environmental
recordings and field recording-based sound art, so the two new
sectors were formed in order to maintain this status while expanding
into other sonic territories.

I mention this
partially out of respect for labels such as Morr Music and
others that might
have similar names, so as to not appear like I’ve created
new labels that
threaten to step on their toes and cause confusion
(and possible
disdain).

Continuing onward
with the new mOAR division of and/OAR, we next
have Yuki Kaneko's "Rut", a
beautiful sparkling kaleidoscopic homage
to the common wonders of day to day
life that displays this young
composer's already great talent for subtly
weaving together complex
textures of electronic and acoustic sound sources
into cleverly abstract
melodic musings. As with Sawako Kato's debut CD
release a few years
ago on a/O, this will prove to be another perfect CD for
Spring and Summer.

Initially released
on Magic Book Records in Japan a few months ago,
this US release of "Rut" is
quite different in that it has been remastered with
some tracks having been
completely re-constructed / remixed, with one
track being replaced by a new
one, therefore improving the flow of the tracks
and heightening the emotive
dynamics of the entire release. Needless to say,
and/OAR is quite pleased to
make this quintessential version of "Rut"
available to world.

sound design, soundtracks for various stage
productions, sound
installations, and he runs his own CDR label called
PhaseRubRec.
