Pitre is a composer, performer, improviser, and sound-artist. He has
been recognized for creating different types of abstract sounds such as
dense drones and minimalist/contemporary classical compositions.<br><br>Pitre (originally from <span style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;" class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1200088385_1">New Orleans</span>) spent the better part of the 90s in <span style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;" class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1200088385_2">San Diego</span>.
He began exploring drone, minimalism, and ambient music at the closing
of the decade, and in September 2004 he moved to Brooklyn, to be closer
to one of the nexuses of experimental music. There, Pitre began
in-depth studies of music and sound including: the physics of sound,
the involvement of mathematics in tuning and temperament, the ancient
tuning system of<br>Just Intonation and other microtonal tuning systems, as well as the
