meelkop</STRONG>'s 1998 release <STRONG><EM>7
[perceptions]</EM></STRONG>, and <STRONG>doug haire</STRONG>'s
<STRONG><EM>removed and haunted</EM></STRONG>. we featured and loved
doug's <STRONG><EM>19 american waysides</EM></STRONG> a while back, consisting
of recordings made with old phonograph records along highways in the us; this is
a much more polished and highly composed collection of location, real and
imaginary. we also heard a few composition and an untreated recording from
a new project, <STRONG>mystified</STRONG>, sampled some of the sounds from 2005
<STRONG>prix ars electronica</STRONG> competition (including a spectacularly
delicate installation documentation of a room full of humming and clicking giant
lightbulbs), and listened to a few more of <STRONG>jeph jerman</STRONG>'s most
recent collection on untreated recordings. </DIV>
