well folks, this is it, our last show before our annual summer break. we
will be off for the month of august to recharge our ears and tidy our
studio, maybe make a few recordings ourselves, and work on improving our
bread baking techniques. we'll be back on september 15th with edition
#686 - in the meantime, there are plenty of shows, hundreds in fact, in
our archives to tide you over:

http://www.frameworkradio.net/archive/

a special treat for you this week, to soften the blow of our departure:
if you've been curious about our VOICEOVER-FREE editions, available to
all our patrons of $10 or more per month, we're making this week's
available to everyone, as a little taster, and another last little
reminder, before our break, to check our our patreon campaign and show
your support for our efforts. find it here:

https://www.patreon.com/posts/framework-685-07-28661508

NB, we're currently polling patrons to see if we drop even the pre-show
and post-show intro/outro from these editions, so you can string several
together for listening with no spoken interruption. if you'd like to
vote in that poll, just sign up as a patron, and let me know your
preference!

july 18th was world listening day - in this edition we listen to a few
of the recordings uploaded to the aporee soundmaps WLD2019 project
(http://aporee.org/maps/projects/wld2019), and we hear an introduction
recorded on that day as well. meanwhile we finally had a chance to check
out david rothenberg's 2-disc release on gruenrekorder, 'nightingale
cities', featuring his signature improvisations with wildlife - this
time, as you might have guessed, with nightingales, in berlin and
helsinki. we also heard a sample from absolute value of noise's outdoor
solar powered generative radio station, which 'tries to recreate the
sounds of life in its immediate environment - imitating the sounds of
insects, birds, frogs, magnetic phenomena, the wind moving through the
trees, rain falling, and waves on the ocean.' you can listen live
(during canadian daylight hours) at the link below in the playlist. also
some historical concrete composition by greek composer myrielle kyrou, a
live performance recording by bana haffar, and a composition
commissioned by this year's radiophrenia festival by kate carr.

so, enjoy the month of august, enjoy this taster of our VOICEOVER-FREE
editions, enjoy digging through our archives, and we'll enjoy a little
break. see you in september!

again, we are always looking for new material, whether raw field
recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated framework:afield series. send proposals or material,
released or not, on any format, to the address at the bottom of this
mail. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
