#377: 2012.05.27

a great collection this week - we were pretty overwhelmed by the beauty
of emmanuel holterbach's collection of resonant recordings, not to
mention the beauty of the accompanying book/packaging. we don't know how
available these are, but if you can track one down, check it out. we
also dipped back into the stack of jeph jerman releases we have waiting,
inspired by the recent live performance video he sent out (we posted a
link on our facebook page, if you missed it), this one a collection of
vlf and weather recordings from 2008. a few new ears to our airwaves
this week as well, in the form of some intriguing instrumental
improvisations following field-recording scores by russian artist clay
gold, and more sounds on the dragon's eye label from aelab. and all
began with another intro (burning plastic - a sound so ubiquitous to an
estonian's childhood that one of my estonian housemates identified it's
(to me) totally alien strains from the next room) by erik illaste. we're
running low on intros folks - record us one and send it in!

again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw
field-recordings, field-recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated framework:afield series. send proposals or material,
released or not, on any format, to the address at the bottom of this
mail. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
