Pueblo Nuevo Netlabel se complace en presentar "Aminta", primer disco solista de Anamlor Smith.

"Escucho por cuarta vez "Aminta", el primer disco de la chilena Anamlor Smith. Llego el momento de empezar a escribir...

Primero, no parece un disco debut. Mas bien parece un punto culmine, la pausa en una larga busqueda; una que (se) ha tomado (el) tiempo, mucho tiempo...

El fondo musical que aqui despliega bebe profusamente de la electronica de cuño europeo de los ultimos 5 o 10 años, asi como de infinidad de otras musicas que ella bien detalla en la seccion "influencias" de su myspace. Pero lo que llama mas poderosamente la atencion es la presencia de su voz: una voz que no solo nos habla en las claves de la seccion ya aludida, sino tambien en momentos en donde escapa y avanza a contrapelo, dando un buen golpe de timon a nuestras expectativas y abriendo nuestras posibilidades de percepcion.

"Aminta" es un disco con historia: real y cronologica, pero tambien interna; es un cuento que no logramos descifrar; un paisaje hermetico y cerrado - cosa que las letras se encargan de recordarnos a cada momento...

Y es que, pasado cierto rato, entender el todo o intentar lecturas ideales se hace inoficioso. Mas atractivo se hace dejarse llevar por la inusitada y saludable frescura que lo envuelve a uno en la audicion.

¿El resultado? Un Magical Mystery Tour muy sui generis. Como la historia que relata. Como el sonido que la contiene. Como el nombre de su autora, ligado al de Antonio Smith, quien, hace mas de 30 años, dejara un disco que ha sorprendido, intrigado y cautivado al mundo entero.

Llego el momento de escucharlo otra vez..."

"This is the fourth time I listen to "Aminta", Anamlor Smith's opera prima...

It doesn't sound like a debut album at all. It sounds more like a turning point, an inflection, a moment of meditation and pause after a long trip...

Sound design here is tied to all this 5-10 years old european electronica, plus countless other musics detailed in her myspace's "influences" section...

But the presence of her voice is what calls attention the most: it is haunting, elusive, sometimes playing hide-and-seek with the songs...

"Aminta" is a conceptual album, but a closed one, with deeply hidden meanings and symbols, like a myth or a legend ...

After a while, trying to understand the whole thing is useless... Everything around it is so seductive you spontaneously surrender to the spell...

"'Aminta' is Anamlor's idiosyncratic Magical Mystery Tour... just like Congregacion Viene was for his father, Antonio Smith...
