framework - phonography/field recording; contextual and decontextualized sound activity
presented by patrick mcginley

this edition featured a studio visit from german sound artist and radio producer michael rüsenberg. we listened to a number of michael's compositions from over the last several years, including his latest, dr. mussert's landing, from his lisboa.reloaded project. we talked a bit about his work, about the compositional details of the works we heard, and we also partook of a few surprise pieces that michael brought with him, including a creaking metal pier that you'd swear was a saxophone...

for more information on michael's work and his many guises (and a cracking photo of yours truly), see http://www.realambient.de & http://www.michael-ruesenberg.de.

with our next edition we begin a new era of framework - not only do we finally officially begin broadcasting weekly, but we begin our new series, framework:afield. framework:afield will alternate with our standard framework broadcasts, bringing us every second week editions curated and produced by guest artists from around the world - we have producers lined up from the u.s., france, italy, the canary islands, malaysia, spain, austria, portugal, and of course the u.k.! our first edition has been produced in new york city by curator and sound artist ben owen - for more information see http://seasonalbk.net.

again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw field recordings, field recording based composition or introduction submissions. send material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. we are also hoping to have live performances as often as possible, so if you are in or passing through london please get in touch!
