That’s easy to do. This was the key my piano music was in. Try it, and then let me know if you want me to move it down a step.

Hi Chet,

Appreciate the transcription - you may want to consider taking it one step down from concert pitch A minor to G minor.

That puts the B flat instruments in more friendly territory.

In the 60's, on club dates, we always played it in G minor even when we had Sephardic Klezmer players on the gig.

Here's a link to a lead sheet in G minor if there is any interest - http://www.freesheetmusic.net/worldfolk/klezmer/hava%20nagila.pdf

Just my 2 cents.

Yes, Havah Nagilah! I happen to have the piano sheet music for this, and it was quick work (only 18 bars) to produce the lead charts for us. I’m attaching them, but I can’t make it tonight so hopefully someone else can print out some copies. If you do try it, let me know if this key is ok.

Chet

Hava Nagila? I suggested it to Lilia and she concurred. I know it on accordion - can probably help lead

RE: Lilia and Jason's wedding--

Are we going to try and learn "Blues for Ben"? (I'm game)! (there was some joking about playing Ghostbusters but hopefully Jason and Lilia will provide requests).

And along those lines, anyone up for scheduling another rehearsal towards the end of this week

due to the HONK/PRONK weekend?

man i was worried there but we really worked that through!

great to see so many “irregular” folks there marching with us! (in the best sense of the word, after all we almost called the group the Dunster Road Irregulars) .... please let us know if we can switch something to persuade you to come out often! (i know schedules can be bear)

Also i think we made a great experience for the students, just that taste of street band life. and thanks to them for being game

many thanks to doug for doing more songleading than usual, and for Dom with the banner (i propose we get a miniteam to spruce up the banner though- looking a little ragged, and i know dom has an idea to improve the structure- to do it properly we should consider hammering in grommets etc) and to anyone else who stepped up a little above and beyond ...

i want to make a checklist to follow before medium-big gigs, just checking “do we need a banner? wagon? trike? water? sunscreen? idea for transportation if one way parade” etc.
